General Information

Everyone interested in enrolling in our Vocational classes is required to demonstrate reading, writing, and listening skills in English at a level which will allow them to benefit from instruction.

To register in the classes, you must:
  1. Call one of the counseling centers listed below to make an appointment to take a Placement Evaluation.
  2. Following your Placement Evaluation, make an appointment and meet with a counselor who will enroll you in appropriate classes.

Books and other Costs

Students do not pay tuition fees except for Boston Reed courses.  To enroll in a Boston Reed course please call 1-800-201-1141 or visit online at www.BostonReed.com.  For students' convenience, books are sold in the bookroom #105 at the Independence Adult Center.
 

Those interested in classes which have a prerequisite typing speed will be speed tested at the first class they attend.
