  • Program Home Page: The new East Side Adult Education Program home page was designed to afford fluid movement for the user to the different department web pages and contact information including maps. The home page incorporates a frame on the top and left sides that carries to each department lead page the important links. Department lead pages must fit within a 480 by 640 field area. Over time we have gone in and tuned our graphics so they will load quickly. We also added teacher and student resource links on the main home page available to all departments providing teachers with CASHEE information and students with tutorials they can use anywhere.
    1. ABE: Department web page was first posted in 1998. Later all time sensitive information was moved to the Schedule of Classes "Brochure" link leaving the current policy, requirements, etc specific to the department.
    2. Citizenship: This department set of pages includes a listing of Citizenship classes available as well as Citizenship curriculum and practice tests for students of all levels of English fluency. These activities are incorporated into classroom settings, computer labs, and at home by students online or using CD’s.
    3. Community Education: This page was first posted in 1998 and has gone through several iterations. Presently there is a link to the Schedule of Classes from the home page. The Community Education page has these links: View Classes, to Register Online, FAQs, Courses Online, and Locations. Session information is loaded three times a year at the same time that the Schedule of Classes is released.
    4. English as a Second Language (ESL): This department page has been in place since 1998. Links and features such as student-generated materials are frequently posted to the page, making it a resource for students and staff alike. Autobiographies, writing assessments, accounts of campus events, and electronic projects have all been posted. The ESL Technology Committee discusses the utilization and design of ESL web pages and these ideas are converted into posted activities by the ESL Technology Coordinator.
      1. This is a Innovative 5% Project certified by the California Department of Education.
