| STUDENT TUTORIAL SITES |
| The
trick to
all of these sites is to make sure that you play with
them
ahead of time on the computers that your students will use. Many
of them use Java and JavaScript, a program to develop these types of
games.
If your computer doesn't support that, then the game/activity won't
work. United Video Streaming - Student Center Bay Area JOBS |

Student MATH Links
MyMathTest.com was designed to help students take and pass their college placement exams. The student can take a pretest, generate a study plan, then they take a posttest. http://www.funbrain.com/math/ FUNBRAIN.COM has a cute
math drill speed game for addition,
subtraction, multiplication and division. You need a faster connection,
since it redraws after each entry. The "Change Maker" game is
invaluable for our Adult Basic Education students and Basic Math
students.
The Math Forum, by Drexel University, has student and teacher
resource links. They offer a "Problem of the Week" page, puzzle
page, "Ask Dr. Math" and this brain teaser "Beat the Calculator"
along with many other references.
QuickMath has a series of math tools. Students can graph equations and solve equations for Algebra concepts and above. The tools are the focus. It is a small site with a nice links page.
http://www.visualfractions.com/ One can never have too many examples and demonstrations on fractions. VisualFractions.com believes fractions are easier to understand if one can see them graphically. As one works through the problem it builds a pie chart or graphical representation.
http://www.harcourtschool.com/glossary/math2/index_temp.html Math Glossary at Harcourtschool.com uses moving images as well as text to define math terminology. The students can use this at home and at school when they are not in their academic software.
http://www.hyper-ad.com/tutoring/Default.htm Technical Tutoring used to be a one-on-one tutoring center.
For the
last seven years, since their business closed it doors, they have been
posting little pearls on this page. They posted learning tricks like
"speed arithmetic". Early
